To ensure a dynamic, well-regulated and safe NPS that’s widely acknowledged as one of the most efficient and effective in the world, we have robust systems and processes in place.

Disaster recovery

BankservAfrica prides itself on being able maintain the reliability and robustness of South Africa’s National Payment System and have invested in state-of-the-art disaster recovery facilities, constantly striving to safe guard against disaster.

Transaction and data replication are fully replicated between our primary and secondary sites. The two sites’ systems are reconciled daily to ensure accuracy and optimum efficiency, with transaction and data replication fully automated between the processing centres.

Real-time and card products operate in full continuous processing (active/active) mode, which allows participating banks to connect to any site ensuring ongoing availability of services to their clients.

The BankservAfrica operations centre runs 24 x 7, 365 days a year and is staffed by employees who are integral to the continued success of the company, maintaining its trusted partner status.  The operations control centre monitors all BankservAfrica’s systems and tracks problem resolution.

BankservAfrica constantly innovates and invests in modern technologies to ensure that the dependability and robustness of the South African National Payment System continues seamlessly.

Service level agreements

ICT (information communication technology) is a central business driver in monitoring our excellent service levels.  While striving for 100% service level agreements (SLAs), we consistently reach 99% SLAs.

To continually provide clients with the service levels they require 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, while processing billions of transactions, requires people with a particular philosophy and way of working.

Furthermore an investment in modern technologies that improve performance, are reliable and sustainable, provide continuous processing capacity and have appropriate diagnostic and disaster recovery capacity that are secure and protected by exceptional standards of governance is required.
